Description

LinSig is a specialized software developed by JCT Consultancy that allows traffic engineers to model traffic lights and their impact on traffic capacity and vehicle queues. Traffic signal impact modeling optimizes signal timing to reduce delay or increase capacity at optimal junctions and intersections. The program was developed by Brian Simonite in the 1980s and has been updated several times by the manufacturer. The program does this by using the traffic and optimizes the timing signal of the intersections to the maximum capacity.

Hardware requirements
The absolute minimum standard hardware is:
A computer with a processor of at least 2 GHz or equivalent.
1 GB of RAM.
25 Mb free hard disk space.
Minimum graphics resolution 1280x1024 full color (32-bit).
19" monitor.
CD drive (required only for installation).
A mouse with two buttons.

The recommended hardware standard is:
A computer with a 3.0 GHz processor. Optimizing larger networks will benefit from a faster processor
2 GB of RAM. 3-4 GB of RAM will be useful for optimizing larger networks
25 Mb free hard disk space.
Graphics resolution 1920x1200 full color (32-bit).
24-inch 1920×1200 resolution monitor.
An additional monitor (with compatible graphics card(s)) is very helpful, but not essential. For larger networks, a second monitor is essential for maximum productivity. In our experience, a second monitor (costing around £180) is one of the most cost-effective ways to improve LinSig productivity. (And many other apps too!!)
CD drive (required only for installation).
Three-button wheel mouse. Not important, but very useful for scaling graphical views.
Please note that depending on the version of Windows you are using, the Windows hardware requirements may exceed the above.

Software requirements
LinSig 3 can be used on any of the following platforms:
Microsoft Windows 10
Microsoft Windows 8
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit and 64-bit)
Microsoft Windows Vista
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft .Net version 2.0 or 3.5 must also be present.
Although LinSig 3 is no longer officially supported on earlier versions of Windows, LinSig should work successfully on the following versions:
Microsoft Windows 2000 with Internet Explorer version 5.5 or later.
LinSig 3 does not run on Windows 98 or earlier.
